Jen helped me find schools that were right for me -- especially making sure that my list was well balanced. She taught me how to research schools to ensure every school was on my list for a reason. Most important of all, she helped me write essays that were unique and insightful, while making me realize I didn't need to make a fake personality to get into college; I could just be myself. She answered any minor questions I had along the way -- whether or not to send additional recommendations, what SAT Subject Scores to report, and so much more. After getting deferred from my top choice school, Jen helped me finish the rest of my applications and craft a letter of continued interest. And, in the end, I got in! Treading through high school years was like a ride in rough waters. With Deb as our captain, our navigation got easier and helped us reach our destination safely.
With so many questions, decisions and arguments with tough teenagers, having someone by your side who can guide kids and talk and mentor them is a big relief. It is hard to reach out to school counselors for petty things. And with multiple forums on net or friends’ advice, things are so unclear and confusing at times. But with Deb, any question can be discussed freely while always keeping the child’s interests a priority. As a mentor, as a friend and as a guide, she encourages the best side of child.
